Can you believe it? We’re finally getting to the main event. The 10-man over the top rope Battle Royal with a side of fries challenge to determine who will face C.M. Punk at Wrestlemania! (and yes, minus the fries reference, this is how they announced it)
Our Competitors this evening:
- Chris Jericho
- Big Show
- The Great Khali
- Cody Rhodes
- Kofi Kingston
- The Miz
- Santino Marella
- Wade Barrett
- R-Truth
- Dolph Ziggler
At one point, Wade Barrett and R-Truth are eliminated near the announce tables. At this point, Big Show heaves Dolph Ziggler high over his head and throws him on top of those two guys. Presumably, they were supposed to catch Dolph and lessen the impact. That’s how it should have worked out, and how it usually works out. But this is how it actually worked out:
Yeah. They missed and Dolph about scraped his entire face off on the table. Meanwhile, Wade Barrett looks to have broken his arm in half, but come to find out it’s just a dislocated elbow. He’ll be out for quite a while now. I hate to see them get “for real” injured, and Barrett didn’t need anything to happen to him and slow his roll, but at least it’s not a career ender for him.
Anyhow, back in the ring, they’re fighting. As Big Show eliminates Cody Rhodes, Jericho tries to eliminate Big Show. He’s got him halfway over the ropes and the previously eliminated Cody helps pull Show the rest of the way out of the ring. Cody takes off for the locker room with the Big Show lumbering up the ramp behind him.
Punk gets in the ring to shake Jericho’s hand, who in turn laughs at him and refuses.
So there it is everyone. Raw 2/20/12. It was an overall decent show, but there was just enough wrong with it to remind you that you’re watching WWE. Hopefully the feuds get more intense as we wind our way towards Wrestlemania.
