Brodus Clay comes out with the Funkadactyls and calls his momma. I still love this guy and his entrance. Always will. And then Big Show lumbers out on stage with a microphone in hand. AGAIN. Christ, can’t we keep those things away from him at all?
He berates Brodus for a while calling him a sellout, worse than Doink the clown, etc. And then spears Brodus outside the ring. Big Show spends a while kicking, punching, throwing and chest slapping him. After throwing him into the ring post, Show goes to take apart the announce desk for some reason. That’s when Kofi and R-Truth come out to make the save.
And it doesn’t work for shit. Show catches Kofi, throws him into R-Truth and kicks the table apart so he can use a part of it to beat Brodus clay some more. And he does. And he brutalizes Kofi and R-Truth some more.
For a company worried about bullying, racism, etc, having a very large southern White Man whip the shit out of three black men probably isn’t going to earn you too many NAACP awards. Just sayin’.
And then this shit mercifully comes to an end. I don’t know. I think they’re trying too hard to get the crowd to believe Big Show turned bad. And they don’t have to. He punched Cena. He sided with Big Johnny. Having him destroy every non-white person on your show isn’t necessary. Well, unless you’re setting up a Big Klan storyline.
I don’t know, overall the show had a lot of matches. Not necessarily quality matches, but it was more action than it was talking for a change, and that’s a step in the right direction. We saw the potential future feud for Randy Orton in either the Miz or Dolph Ziggler start to take shape tonight, and we saw a nice side-feud for Big Show with Brodus Clay, if they choose to pursue that angle.
And as an added bonus??? NO LORD TENSAI! Yes! That’s something I can definitely support.
